Macharoundtheclock

 BWF has a long history of producing top class Ontario-breds, including Ifihadyourluck, How Is That Fair, and, of course, Poof She’s Gone. Ontario-bred standouts that include Macharoundtheclock (pictured winning the Battle of the Belles as a 2 year old)  who has earned over $500,000 and has already produced Fourever Boy p.3,149; 4,1:48.2f ($997,845) and Like Clockwork p.2.152.2f; 150 ($344,093), joined the Birnam Wood Farms broodmare band.

Sweet Lou

BWF-bred Sweet Lou had a tremendous career- as a 2 year old he set a world record of 149 winning the Breeders Crown by over 7 lengths and shown remarkable durability since. In 2014, at age 5, he set another world record-of 147F in winning the $500,000 Franklin Pace, as well as scoring in the Canadian Pacing Derby, the Haughton Memorial, the US Pacing Championship (see video below) and the Dan Patch Pace at Hoosier Park. Sweet Lou was a $38,000 yearling purchase from the 2010 Birnam Wood Farms/ Concord Stud consignment to Harrisburg. He ended his career with winnings over $3,400,00 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2021.

Fourever Boy

One of the top 3 year-olds of 2022, Fourever Boy is another standout with Birnam Wood Farms breeding on both sides of his pedigree as a son of Sweet Lou and out of the top BWF-bred race mare Macharoundtheclock. After a strong 2 year-old campaign in 2021, Fourever Boy asserted himself as a major national force with wins in the $250,000  Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Final, the Simcoe Stakes, and a heat of the Little Brown Jug (2nd in the final).  Congratulations to owner Miki Rae Stables, owner/trainer Tim Twaddle, and drivers Dexter Dunn and Mike Wilder on all the success.

Nutcracker Sweet

Nutcracker Sweet was a fixture in most of the top stakes races for colt pacers as a 2 and 3 year old. Career highlights include winning two grand circuit events at the Red Mile and a strong 2nd, beaten only a head, in the $500,000 Hempt Memorial.

Fine Tuned Lady

Fine Tuned Lady, bred by BWF and Concord Stud Farm, followed up a strong 2 year old season with another successful campaign that has increased her lifetime earnings to over $625,000. Her stakes victories included the PA Sires Stakes Championship, several divisions of the PA Sires Stakes, the PA All Stars, and the $250,000 Kentuckiana Stakes. Congratulations on all her success to her owners- our friends M&L of Delaware and William WIswell, trainer John Butenschoen, and driver Corey Callahan.

Youaremycandygirl

BWF-bred Youaremycandygirl has had a stellar first two seasons of racing, highlighted by setting a world record for fastest 2 year old filly, winning a Breeders Crown, earning a Dean Patch award and amassing lifetime earnings in excess of $1,550,000. Congratulations to owner Bill Donovan, trainer Ron Burke and primary driver, Yannick Gringas.

 

No Lou Zing

2020 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Champion No Lou Zing, co-bred, with Concord Stud Farm, represents 4 generations of BWF breeding on both sides of his pedigree. His dam, Terroronthebeach, traces all the way back to Pammy Lobell, while his sire Sweet Lou is a grandson of Sweet Dahrlin, the first horse Seth ever purchased at auction. As an added kick, 2nd dam Beach Guest is a daughter of Hall of Famer and influential sire Beach Towel, also purchased by Seth as a yearling. Congratulations to No Lou Zing’s owners 3 Brothers Stables, Rojan Stables and Caviart Farms, as well as trainer Nancy Takter and drivers Dexter Dunn and Josert Fonseca.

Poof She’s Gone

Poof She’s Gone is both a 2009 Two-Year Old Trotting Filly Of The Year award winner and a Birnam Wood Farms 2008 Harrisburg sale graduate. In 2010 she pushed her lifetime earnings to $1,359,679 for owners Melvin Hartman, Herb Liverman, David McDuffee, and John Fielding.

Bettor Sweet

BWF-bred Bettor Sweet, a $45,000 yearling purchase from the Birnam Wood Farms/Concord Stud consignment to Harrisburg, is shown here winning his first of two consecutive Breeder crown open victories.  He retired in 2013 with lifetime earnings of $2,778,753 and a reputation as one of the toughest and most talented open pacers of the modern era.   Congratulations on a great career to owner John Cancelliere and trainer Tom Cancelliere.

 

Sweet Future

Homebred Sweet Future was foaled in 1998 and inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2018. After a brief but successful racing career, Sweet Future went on to become the dam of World Champion and Pacer of the Year Sweet Lou, who earned over $3,400,000 and is now a leading sire, and multiple Breeders Crown winner Bettor Sweet who earned over $2,2000,000. She is also the 2nd dam of Dan Patch winner Captain Crunch and World Champion and Dan Patch winner Youaremycandygirl.

Beach Towel

1990 Horse of the Year and 2005 Hall of Fame inductee, Beach Towel was purchased by Seth Rosenfeld as a yearling for $22,000 in 1988 and went on to set a single-season’s earning record ($2,091,860) for a Standardbred. As a sire he produced a 3-time Breeder’s Crown champion Jenna’s Beach Boy but will be best remembered as the broodmare sire of 2008 Horse of the Year and legendary sire Somebeachsomewhere, who himself was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2015.
